"The God of heaven is the one who will give us success and we his
servants are going to start building." Nehemiah 2:20
Nehemiah is an interesting book. It is hidden in the Old Testament
pages that don't get turned as often as their New Testament
counterparts, but they are just as timeless. Nehemiah had felt led
to rebuild the walls of a city which had fallen into a state of
disrepair. 140 years earlier Jerusalem and its Temple had been
destroyed. 70 years earlier the Temple had been rebuilt, but no one
really got around to rebuilding the city. Nehemiah called the
people's attention to the problem and most of them were ready to do
something about it. Enter Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem who opposed
the project. They liked things just as they were. It was to their
opposition that Nehemiah said, "The God of heaven is the one who
will give us success and we his servants are going to start
building."
Fulfilling the Vision is an initiative of this
church to address some of the needed repairs at A&M United Methodist
Church and to continue our forward momentum as a vibrant community
of faith. It is an effort that begins with reliance upon God and
continues with God's people rolling up their sleeves.
I encourage you to examine the resources related
