The Media Production Student Worker position at A&M United Methodist Church provides hands-on experience in live event production, broadcast technology, audiovisual systems, and worship production. Student workers play an essential role in delivering high-quality in-person and online worship experiences by supporting the church's audio, video, lighting, and livestream operations.
Working directly with the Director of Media Production, student workers assist in producing weekly worship services, concerts, conferences, weddings, funerals, and special events. Through practical experience operating professional production equipment and collaborating with staff and volunteers, students will develop technical skills applicable to careers in broadcast media, live event production, audio engineering, video production, and technical directing.
This position averages 10–20 hours per week, depending on the church calendar and production schedule, and includes ongoing training.

Responsibilities
Assist with the production of weekly worship services and special events.
Operate digital audio consoles during worship services and live productions.
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot professional video cameras for livestream and recording.
Assist with livestream production, including switching, graphics, media playback, and monitoring online broadcasts.
Help coordinate technical aspects of in-person and online productions before, during, and after services.
Assist with stage setup, lighting, microphones, monitors, and audiovisual equipment.
Perform equipment checks and help troubleshoot technical issues quickly during live events.
Assist with recording, archiving, and organizing media files from worship services and special events.
Maintain production equipment and assist with inventory, cable management, and workspace organization.
Work alongside staff and volunteers to ensure smooth and professional worship experiences.
Learn new production technologies and workflows as ministry needs evolve.
Support occasional photography or video production projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Current student at Texas A&M University or Blinn College.
Interest in live event production, broadcast media, audiovisual technology, or related fields.
Ability to learn and operate professional audio, video, and livestream equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in fast-paced live production environments.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
Dependable, detail-oriented, and punctual.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required by the worship schedule.
