Meal Budgets are Really Tight - Here’s a Resource

There’s a Student Food Pantry at A&M UMC
College is expensive. Tuition, rent, books, transportation and food. Sometimes the budget works, but occasionally an unexpected expense shows up. If groceries are stretching your budget, A&M United Methodist Church's Student Food Pantry is here for you.
Since opening in February 2026, the pantry has welcomed about 260 different students for approximately 1,380 shopping visits. Most students have visited between one and five times. Our pantry is a choice pantry, meaning you select the groceries that make sense for you rather than receiving a prepacked box.
Maybe you're a first-generation college student without much of a financial safety net. Maybe you're an undergraduate stretching financial aid, a graduate student living on a stipend, or an international student navigating expenses far from home. Or maybe this is just a difficult month.
No matter where you find yourself, you’re invited to step through our Student Pantry’s doors.
We're Your Neighbors
Northgate is located in one of Bryan-College Station's food deserts, and reaching other food resources can be difficult without reliable transportation. A&M UMC is directly across from campus and accessible by foot, bike, and bus.
Texas A&M and community organizations already offer important food assistance programs. We're another option, not a replacement for those resources. The pantry is a community mission of A&M UMC and is separate from our College Ministry.
You don't have to attend our church, participate in a Bible study, be Methodist, or even be Christian to shop. However, if you do want to join in, we hold community meals and Bible studies on Wednesday nights, and Thursday dinner and worship – both are free for college students.
You may not need us this week, but a classmate, roommate, lab partner, or friend might. Send them this page or come together. If groceries would make this week a little easier, come see us. There's food here for you.
