Make A&M UMC Your Church Home in Aggieland

Student Joining Sunday is September 13
Way before I graduated from Texas A&M (Class of ‘21), I lived in an apartment just behind A&M United Methodist Church. I started attending because it was close and familiar, but I stayed because I found a community that welcomed me, trusted me, and gave me opportunities to grow.
Over time this church became more than the place I worshiped on Sundays. It became my church home.
The people of A&M UMC invited me to read Scripture, join a Bible study, serve as a college ministry intern, and begin discovering my own call to ministry. Some of the people who supported me as a student are now the people I have the privilege of serving alongside as college pastor.

Finding a Place to Belong
During all three worship services, college students will have the opportunity to become associate members of A&M United Methodist Church. Associate membership allows you to make A&M UMC your church home while you’re living and studying in Aggieland without giving up your membership in your home church.
It is a way of saying: This is where I want to worship, grow, serve, and belong during my college years.
After the 11 a.m. traditional worship service, we’ll gather for a church-wide luncheon in the Great Hall to celebrate our new members. Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey, bishop of the Texas and Rio Texas Conferences of the United Methodist Church will also join us for this special day.
Becoming an associate member is more than adding your name to a church roll. It means becoming part of a multigenerational church family that notices when you are here, checks on you when life becomes difficult, celebrates with you, and helps Bryan-College Station feel more like home.
Your Church on Northgate
A&M UMC was that kind of place for me. Now, as an Aggie and your college pastor, I hope it can become that place for you.
Whether you have been part of a church your entire life or are just beginning to explore your faith, there is a place for you here. I hope you’ll join us for Student Joining Sunday, stay for lunch, and take this next step with us.
