More Than Announcements

A New Way to Stay Connected at A&M UMC

Since joining the staff in June, I've had the privilege of hearing incredible stories of faith and service from our members. I've met with ministry leaders, sat in committee meetings, and spent time learning how A&M United Methodist Church lives out its mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. And let me tell you—there is a lot happening!

Every week, our members are teaching Bible studies, serving meals, mentoring students, leading worship, stocking the Student Pantry, welcoming new families, caring for neighbors, and finding countless ways to share Christ's love. The life of this church is vibrant, active, and full of faithful people serving together.

But I also noticed something: We're really good at doing the work of ministry. We're not always as good at telling the stories behind it. These stories deserve to be shared—not because we want recognition, but because they remind us how God is at work among us.

That's why, this fall, we're refreshing the way we communicate. Our goal isn't simply to send more emails or post more often on social media. It's to help every member stay connected to the life of our church and to celebrate what God is doing through this congregation.

Here's What's New

  • Church Blog: Our new blog gives us a place to tell the stories that don't fit in a Sunday announcement. You'll find member interviews, ministry spotlights, church history, mission updates, pastor reflections, and opportunities to grow in your faith.

  • Monday Newsletter: Think of this as your weekly guide to life at A&M UMC. Each Monday, you'll receive upcoming events, ministry news, featured blog stories, and opportunities to connect throughout the week.

  • Saturday Service Preview: Each Saturday, Rev. Lance Richards will continue sending a brief reflection on Scripture, a preview of Sunday's message, and what to expect in worship as we prepare our hearts for the week ahead.

  • Social Media: Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for a living scrapbook of church life—photos, videos, ministry highlights, event reminders, and moments worth celebrating together.

  • YouTube: Whether you're traveling, homebound, or worshiping with us from somewhere else, we want you to feel like you're part of our church family. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to join us for worship and other video content.

  • Events: The best way to experience the life of A&M UMC has always been the same: show up. The full list is at am-umc.org/events.

Whether it's a Bible study, mission opportunity, fellowship event, concert, or worship service, we hope you'll find a place to connect, grow, and serve alongside others.

We Can't Wait to Share These Stories

This church has an incredible story to tell—not because of any one program or event, but because of the people who faithfully live out the Gospel every day. We're excited to tell those stories, celebrate what God is doing, and help more people find their place in the life of A&M United Methodist Church. Thanks for coming along for the journey. We can't wait to share what's next!
