“The Rule of St. Benedict: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Life.” The Rule of St. Benedict was written fifteen hundred years ago as a simple manual for monks living in community together. Because of its gentle wisdom, realism, and depth, the Rule has stretched beyond the walls of monasteries. This brief introduction to the Rule will combine scripture and Benedictine teachings in practical ways as we seek to learn to listen humbly to others, welcome each “stranger” as Christ, and pray in new and powerful ways.
