Journey to Christ: Becoming Disciples at A & M United Methodist Church
What is the “Becoming Disciples” process? Jesus’ first disciples grew in their understanding of him during their apprenticeship with him. “Journey to Christ” offers Seekers a 12 week opportunity to expand their understanding of who Jesus the Christ is and to enhance their relationship with him. The process is characterized by the Seeker’s growing ability to discern God’s activity and call in the events of daily life. “Journey to Christ” is not a Bible study (although we will reflect on a passage of scripture each week). It is more. It is engaging in basic practices that will help one experience the fullness of who Jesus is and how he invites us to live. It is purposely practicing the basic “means of grace”: prayer, scripture study, worship, and service to others. Contact the church office for information; 846-8731.

DMA (Don't Mention Age)
DMA is for men and women who like to gather once a month for interesting programs, fellowship (and food)! Usually twice a year, spring and fall, the group goes on a trip to points nearby, occasionally overnights. The noon programs are presented by some of the most unique, talented people in the Brazos Valley. They are held at the Church on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m.; finished by 1:00 p.m. Call the Church Office by noon on the Monday before for a reservation. Everyone is invited!

Nothing but Nets
Every 30 seconds a child in Africa dies from Malaria. The United Methodist church has partnered with Sports Illustrated, NBA Cares, and the United Nations Foundation to raise money to purchase bed nets for the people in Africa.  Every $10 buys a net that a family of 4 can sleep under protecting them from mosquitoes that carry malaria.  A&M United Methodist Church made this campaign a priority and has had one fundraising event with the A&M basketball team and has other events scheduled with both the A&M soccer team and volleyball team.  For questions regarding Nothing but Nets please contact Kip Gilts at kipgilts@am-umc.org
